‘It's every researcher's dream to find new treatments for diseases’

The focus of cardiologist Martin Magnusson’s research is epidemiological clinical heart failure as well as diabetes and cardiovascular studies. “We use large population-based and patient-based cohorts to investigate biomarkers and their association with disease. It all aims to find new drug targets for diabetes and cardiovascular disease.”

Martin Magnusson is a senior consultant in cardiology at Skåne University Hospital and a researcher at Wallenberg Centre for Molecular Medicine (WCMM). In 2022, every week a researcher working at WCMM at Lund University and Skåne University Hospital is presented. In the video, Martin Magnusson shares more about his research.
