Oral surgery

We are one of Sweden’s biggest and leading oral surgery centres. We have clinics at Skåne University Hospital and the hospitals in Helsingborg and Kristianstad. The centre is managed from Skåne University Hospital, where we have also focused treatments for rare diagnoses and orthodontics.

The centre employs oral surgeons, orthodontists, oral medicine doctors, specialist dental nurses and medical secretaries.

Oral surgery involves providing treatment and performing highly specialised surgical procedures in the oral cavity and surrounding tissues. This may involve removing teeth, installing dental implants, reconstructing jawbones or treating disorders of the oral mucosa or various temporomandibular disorders.

We have one of Sweden’s biggest centres for orthognathic surgery.

Additionally, we are involved in the cleft lip and palate (CLP) team, which is a partnership with ear, nose and throat, plastic surgery and others. The team treats children born with facial abnormalities in the jaw area.

Research

We are conducting successful research in a number of areas such as orthognathic surgery planning, osteonecrosis and treatment of temporomandibular disorders.
