‘I hope that I will be able to tell my patients that we have a curative therapy’
Paediatric cardiologist Karin Tran Lundmark treats patients with pulmonary hypertension, a condition that means high blood pressure in the lung. Karin Tran Lundmark’s research is focused on finding ways to treat what is causing the high blood pressure.
“Currently, we can reduce symptoms and prolong survival, but there is no cure. What if we could dissolve the blockages and restore the normal blood flow in the lung?”
Karin Tran Lundmark is a consultant in paediatric cardiology at Skåne University Hospital and a researcher at Wallenberg Centre for Molecular Medicine (WCMM).
