’I hope that my research will lead to more knowledge about bacteria in cystic fibrosis’

Lisa Påhlman, a specialist in infectious diseases, has a main research focus on airway infections in cystic fibrosis – a genetic disease that affects many organs of the body, perhaps most importantly the lungs.  “If we knew more about the bacteria and fungi that these patients are colonised with, we could hopefully have a more tailored or antibiotic treatment for them.”

Lisa Påhlman is a specialist in infectious diseases at Skåne University Hospital and a researcher at Wallenberg Centre for Molecular Medicine (WCMM). In 2022, every week a researcher working at WCMM at Lund University and Skåne University Hospital is presented. In the video, Lisa Påhlman shares more about her research.
