Vascular surgery

We are based in Malmö, where we provide outpatient and inpatient care, an endovascular surgical unit, and administrative services. As one of Skåne University Hospital’s key specialist areas, we are responsible for vascular care in the southwestern and central healthcare districts of Skåne, as well as for highly specialised vascular treatments across the entire southern healthcare region.

Each year, we care for approximately 1,800 patients with conditions such as carotid artery stenosis, aortic aneurysms, and peripheral arterial disease. Treatments are provided using both minimally invasive catheter-based techniques and open surgery.

We also operate a large outpatient clinic, handling approximately 5,000 patient visits annually, where doctors, nurses, and biomedical analysts provide specialised care. One of our key responsibilities is offering screening for abdominal aortic aneurysms to men over the age of 65.
