Oral surgery

We are one of Sweden’s largest and most prominent oral surgery centres, with clinics at Skåne University Hospital and the hospitals in Helsingborg and Kristianstad. Our centre is coordinated from Skåne University Hospital, where we specialise in treatments for rare diagnoses and orthodontics.

Our team includes oral surgeons, orthodontists, oral medicine specialists, specialist dental nurses, and medical secretaries.

Oral surgery involves both routine and highly specialised surgical procedures in the oral cavity and surrounding tissues. This may include tooth extractions, dental implant placements, jawbone reconstruction, and treatment of oral mucosal diseases or temporomandibular disorders.

We are also home to one of Sweden’s largest centres for orthognathic surgery.

Additionally, we are part of the cleft lip and palate (CLP) team, which collaborates with ear, nose and throat specialists, plastic surgeons, and other medical experts. The team provides comprehensive care for children born with jaw and facial abnormalities.

Research

We conduct successful research in several areas, including orthognathic surgery planning, osteonecrosis, and temporomandibular disorder treatments.
