Perioperative intensive care
In Lund, we provide anaesthesia and surgical care for surgery, orthopaedics, and otorhinolaryngology. We also provide anaesthesia for neurosurgery, ophthalmology, gynaecology, oral surgery, and oncology.
In Malmö, we deliver anaesthetic and surgical care for surgery, vascular surgery, urology, orthopaedics, otorhinolaryngology, plastic surgery, ophthalmology, hand surgery, and gynaecological healthcare.
We are responsible for acute, highly specialised intensive care in both Malmö and Lund.
Intensive and perioperative care also oversees Skåne University Hospital’s sterile technology activities and the hospital’s pain unit, which manages acute, postoperative, and cancer-related pain. Additionally, we operate one of Sweden’s largest and leading assessment clinics for malignant hyperthermia disorder.
Intensive and perioperative care actively contributes to two national quality registers to evaluate and improve Swedish healthcare. Our intensive care departments report to the Swedish Intensive Care Register (SIR).
Quality and activity data from Skåne University Hospital and Intensive and perioperative care’s surgical activities are submitted to the Swedish Perioperative Register (SPOR). Information on national quality registers can be accessed at www.kvalitetsregister.se, where links to specific details on SIR and SPOR are also available.
