Emergency care
The Accident and emergency departments primarily manage serious illnesses and accidents. Patients are typically assessed and treated by emergency doctors with broad expertise.
In addition, the team includes nurses with specialised training in emergency care, assistant nurses with expertise in areas such as plastering techniques, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, and medical secretaries—all of whom are trained and experienced in working in an Accident and emergency department.
Research

- Diagnosis of myocardial infarction and unstable angina
- Prioritisation and risk assessment (triage)
- Development and implementation of checklists for the emergency room
- Decision support systems based on artificial intelligence
- Lead times, workload, and care outcomes in the Accident and emergency department
