Hand surgery
One of the largest hand units in Sweden, our department is accredited by the Federation of European Societies for Surgery of the Hand.
Each year, 4,000 surgeries are performed in specially-equipped operating theatres. All major upper extremity trauma cases in southern Sweden are referred to us. All types of elective hand surgery procedures are covered.
Our areas of specialisation include major extremity trauma, nerve injuries and disorders (e.g. neuropathy and tumours), flexor tendon injuries, joint replacements, congenital malformations, hand/arm dysfunctions in cerebral palsy, Dupuytren's contracture, and rheumatic hand surgery.
